Electric Assist System

The Amflow PL automatically adjusts the top speed based on the regulations of your country or region. The speed limits for major regions are as follows:

  • EU: 25 km/h
  • UK: 25 km/h
  • US: 20 mph
  • China: 25 km/h
  1. Assist Level:
Adjusting the assist level changes the proportion of power provided by the assist unit. Increasing the assist level means more power comes from the motor and less from the rider, making the ride easier. Lowering the assist level means the rider exerts more effort, creating a more engaging riding experience.
  2. Assist Range:
The assist range defines the range of assist ratios from the motor. The minimum value represents the assist on flat roads, and the maximum value represents assist for steep climbs. The assist ratio adjusts dynamically within this range based on road gradient and resistance. If both values are set to the same number, the assist level remains constant, regardless of road conditions.
  3. Max Torque in Auto and Trail Modes:
Max torque represents the upper limit of acceleration torque, determining the bike’s acceleration speed. Lowering max torque slows acceleration, while increasing it boosts acceleration. With lower torque, the rider needs to exert more effort to achieve the same acceleration as with higher torque.
  4. Max Torque in Eco and Turbo Modes:
In these modes, max torque represents the maximum power output of the assist unit. Increasing max torque makes it easier to accelerate and climb steep hills, but on slippery surfaces like ice, the rear wheel may slip. Lowering max torque reduces acceleration and makes hill climbing more difficult, but the bike is less likely to slip.
  5. Pedal Response for Starting:
Pedal response controls how quickly the assist kicks in when resuming pedaling after a stop. Increasing pedal response makes it easier to start on inclines, but too much response can lead to wheel spin or wheelies. Riders should adjust this setting carefully based on road conditions.
  6. Sustained Pedal Response:
This setting controls the sensitivity of assist power based on pedal pressure. Higher sustained response means more sensitive assist, with faster increases or decreases in power based on the rider’s effort. Lowering the response makes the assist slower to react to changes in pedaling force.
  7. Overrun (Power Decay After Stopping):
Overrun extends the assist power briefly after the rider stops pedaling, with the power gradually fading. Increasing the Overrun time prolongs this effect. Overrun doesn't always activate—it depends on the speed when stopping. If a large acceleration is detected, Overrun is disabled for safety. For obstacles like roots, we recommend giving one strong pedal stroke before stopping to enhance Overrun power and help you get over obstacles.

Yes. If the motor is off or the battery is depleted, you can still ride the bike like a regular non-electric bicycle by pedaling.

For the safety of the battery, it is recommended to use the original charger. If the charger is lost, please contact Ronhack for assistance.

Replacing the battery requires removing the assist unit. We recommend seeking assistance from Ronhack for this process.

The range of the Amflow PL (or any electric bike) depends on several factors, including environmental temperature, rider weight, pedaling cadence, assist mode usage, and climbing elevation.

In tests conducted by Amflow, a rider weighing 75 kg using the Amflow PL Pro (800Wh) in Auto mode can achieve approximately 60 km of mountain riding or about 1440 meters of climbing.

It takes approximately 2.5 hours to fully charge the 800Wh or 600Wh battery.

It is recommended to store the bike indoors and keep the lithium battery partially charged. Avoid exposing the bike to extreme weather and temperatures to prevent irreversible damage to the assist system.

The battery has a built-in health management system, so it can maintain its health even if it is not fully charged to 100%.

Yes, you can. First, install the Avinox app and pair it with your bike. When a new version is available, the app will notify you with an upgrade prompt. Simply follow the instructions to update.

Currently, only iPhones, Huawei phones, and phones that support the Google framework can receive push notifications from the Avinox app for abnormal movement alerts. Other phone models may be supported in future updates—please stay tuned.

Please follow these steps based on the error message:

  1. "The bike is already bound to another account":
Solution: Contact the person who has it bound to their account and request them to unbind it before you attempt pairing again.
  2. "Device not found":
Solution 1: Check the pairing QR code page for the bike’s connection status. This page will display the current connection status and show the phone model and account name connected. If it says "Connected," it means the bike is already paired via Bluetooth on another device. Locate this device and unpair it from the system Bluetooth.

Solution 2: Check if your phone's Bluetooth is already paired with the bike. If so, unpair the device from Bluetooth and try pairing again.

Press and hold both buttons on the shifter for 5 seconds until the indicator light starts flashing rapidly, then try pairing again.

The Amflow PL meets ASTM Class 4 standards, allowing it to be used on both paved and unpaved surfaces. Under the conditions of front and rear suspension air pressure set to a preload of 25%-30%, a maximum load of 125 kg, a maximum speed of 40 km/h, and a drop height not exceeding 120 cm, the bike performs safely and reliably.

Yes, this is normal. The display and GPS module can generate heat, and the display also absorbs sunlight. Therefore, it’s expected for the display temperature to be higher than body temperature during use.

The Amflow PL display is equipped with a temperature sensor. If the temperature becomes abnormal, an error code will appear on the display, and an alert will be issued.

No, the maximum speed must comply with the regulations of the country or region where it is used. Amflow does not provide a way to remove the speed limit.

The normal operating temperature range is -10°C to 40°C.

When the Amflow PL is powered off, you can still use the Avinox app over the 4G network to check its battery level and location. If there is an unexpected movement, the app will send a notification, allowing you to choose between remotely authorizing an unlock or keeping it locked with the alarm disabled.

Yellow light: Standby

Red light: Charging in progress

Green light: Fully charged

The battery can be charged in an environment with a temperature range of 0°C to 40°C.

It is recommended to use the Amflow PL at altitudes below 5000 meters.

It uses an ISIS interface. It is recommended to use the official crankset for the best compatibility.

First, you’ll need to prepare a Nano 4G SIM card that can connect to the local network. Remove the Amflow PL display, insert the SIM card into the slot on the back of the display, and it will connect to the network.

It uses a CR1620 battery, which typically lasts about 1 year under normal usage.

Yes, the Amflow PL supports control with dual shifters, a single shifter, or without any shifter.

The assist unit’s rated power is 250W, with a maximum power of 850W. In Boost mode, it can deliver up to 1000W of power for a short duration of 30 seconds.

The Amflow PL uses a mid-drive motor.

Maintenance/Modifications

No, the assist system requires the use of Avinox's official parts. Any modifications to the assist system will void the warranty and may violate legal requirements.
If any parts are damaged, please contact customer service to purchase replacements.

Yes, the Amflow PL supports both electronic and mechanical gear systems. It is recommended to use a gear system that meets the requirements for EMTBs. The crankset should be BCD104 specification.

Any dropper seatpost with a 31.6mm diameter is compatible for installation.

There are 2 main pivot bearings with model number 6901, located above the assist unit. The remaining 12 pivot bearings are model 6801.

The bike supports 32T, 34T, and 36T chainrings with a BCD104 mounting interface.

The front wheel supports a maximum diameter of 29 inches and a tire width of up to 2.8 inches. The rear wheel supports a maximum diameter of 29 inches and a tire width of up to 2.6 inches.

It is recommended to use the Amflow PL standard tires: 2.5 inches width for the front tire and 2.4 inches width for the rear tire.

Yes, the Amflow PL is compatible with both 27.5-inch and 29-inch rear wheels. Users need to adjust the four-link flip chip and set the wheel diameter in the app to ensure accurate speed calculations.

For detailed service information, please refer to the FOX website, as the maintenance and service of the front and rear suspension are provided by FOX. Here are Amflow’s usage recommendations for suspension:

  1. Set the preload before each ride.
  2. Adjust the rebound before each ride.
  3. Clean the suspension after each ride.
  4. Service the air chamber every 50 riding hours.
  5. Reapply anti-wear lubricant on the aluminum suspension pivots every 50 riding hours.
  6. Every 150 riding hours or annually, take the front and rear suspension to a FOX dealer for inspection and maintenance.

Any trunnion-mount shock with dimensions 185 mm × 55 mm can be installed on the frame. The original shock is finely tuned for internal damping to match the Amflow PL’s four-link leverage curve.

It is recommended to use the original shock or the same model with damping settings that match the original for optimal performance.

Since parts experience natural wear, the Amflow PL requires regular maintenance. Here’s how you can extend the life and optimize the performance of different components:

  1. Suspension: Before each ride, set the air pressure and adjust compression and rebound based on riding conditions. After each ride, clean the suspension. Every 50 hours of riding, service the air chamber and reapply anti-wear lubricant to the aluminum pivot points. Every 150 hours or annually, take your front and rear suspension to a FOX dealer for inspection and maintenance.
  2. Bike Chain: Regularly clean the chain to remove dirt and reapply lubrication. A well-maintained chain should be replaced after approximately 1000 km to prevent increased wear on the chainring. Use a chain wear gauge to check if it needs replacement.
  3. Crankset, Chainring, and Cassette: Wear on these parts depends on your riding style, maintenance habits, and environment. A biannual check-up at an authorized dealer is recommended.
  4. Brake Fluid: Replace the brake fluid once a year to maintain optimal braking performance.
  5. Brake Rotors: Keep the rotors free of dirt, and avoid touching them with bare hands. Clean them promptly after muddy rides to avoid accelerated wear and reduced braking performance, as well as potential noise during braking.
  6. Pedals: Lubricate the pedal threads before installation to reduce noise at the pedal interface.
  7. Grips: The rubber grips may become porous or oily after extended use or sun exposure. If this occurs, consider replacing them with new ones.
  8. Wheels: Wheels should not have any vertical or lateral wobble. If you notice an impact to the wheels, visit a professional bike shop to adjust the spoke tension and correct any misalignment.
  9. Tires: Ensure that the tires always have adequate tread for grip on roads or trails. If you notice sidewall damage during an inspection, replace the tire promptly.

The Amflow PL comes with inner tubes by default, but both the wheels and tires support a tubeless setup. You can easily convert to a tubeless setup using tubeless valves and sealant.

There is no limit on the number of spacers, but it’s recommended to use no more than three spacers, all installed below the stem.

The progressive leverage design of the Amflow PL makes it compatible with coil shocks, but you’ll need to confirm with the shock manufacturer if their product is compatible with a yoke-style linkage. The yoke length on the Amflow PL is 70.18mm. Providing this measurement to the manufacturer will help determine if their shock fits the Amflow PL.

Here are some coil shocks known to be compatible with the Amflow PL for reference:

  • Ohlins TTX22m.2
  • 2023 Super Deluxe Coil and Deluxe Coil
  • X-FUSION H3C
  • Formula MOD (yoke mount version)

The Amflow PL is designed with geometry based on a 160mm travel front fork. Testing shows that it can also accommodate a 170mm travel fork. However, this change will adjust the bike’s geometry, making the head tube angle slightly slacker (from 64.5° to 64.1°) and the seat tube angle (from 77° to 76.6°), while also raising the bottom bracket height (from 345mm to 348.8mm). Please consider your specific riding needs before making this modification.
